Ria's jewellery designs are inspired by her extensive travels through Europe and Asia where she absorbed the richness of the culture, colours and landscape. Her creativity emerges from a natural sensitivity to her surroundings, people and places which ignites her self-expression.

Her talent was nurtured in an intensly creative family of architects, artists, interior designers and landscape artchitects. Her upbringing was immersed in the dramatic rainforest environment of Mt.Glorious near Brisbane. This environment is a rich resource for her visual perception.

In her young career she has enriched her natural talents through her studies in fashion design and jewellery design and manufacture as well as fashion photography. She headed for the fashion centre of London where she enhanced her experience and her skills. On her return, Ria launched the O-LYDIA label with the intent of producing high quality jewellery, proudly handcrafted in Australia.
